Redirecting Your State Taxes

Your approved contribution will earn you a State of Georgia Tax Credit—up to $1,000 for a single individual or $1,250 for each individual if a married couple files singly, or $2,500 for a married couple filing a joint return. Your approved gift is eligible for a Federal Tax Deduction as well which may be subject to various limitations. This means you can help local Jewish boys and girls grow in their Jewish identity at virtually no cost—or even a net savings! Also, *C* corporations who contribute to the ALEF Fund are eligible for a Georgia State tax credit equal to 75% of their state tax liability (or equal to the amount actually expended, whichever is less).

The tax credit program is limited to the first $50 million in contributions each year for the entire state program, so it’s urgent that you act quickly. This year’s program expires December 31.

Here’s how to contribute to the ALEF Fund:

The ALEF Fund will take care of everything else! Once we receive your approval from the Georgia Department of Revenue, we will process your contribution and send you a contribution acknowledgment letter, a copy of the approval form, and the confirmation form you’ll need to file with your 2010 taxes to claim the Education Expense Credit. It’s that simple.
